Green Educator Award
Green Educator Award applauds and honors universities’ and schools’ educators who inspire enthusiasm and drive change towards eco-friendly practices in schools, fostering environmentally responsible citizens through promoting sustainability and Green Education Transformation (Education 6.0)
Eligibility and Criteria
To be eligible for the Green Educator Award, applicants must submit their innovative Green Education project or initiative within their educational institutions to promote sustainability and the Green Education Transformation (Education 6.0) . This could include, but not limited to:
- Innovative green teaching method or approach to foster sustainability awareness and practices among students.
- Innovative educational resources and activities that address green transformation.
- Prominent student activities or initiatives organized and managed by the educator.
- Effective assessment strategies that enhance students’ academic attainment in the realm of sustainability and Green Education.
- Outreach initiatives within the community to extend the impact of green education beyond the classroom.
- Initiatives to reduce the institution’s ecological footprint such as, water conservation and waste management programs.
Green Educator Award Timeline
1- Application Submission 1st February 2024 to 1st June 2024
Applicants are required to submit:
1- Green Educator Award Application Form:
- Provide personal information and contact details for effective communication.
2- Video Presentation (3-6 minute Video):
- Record a video highlighting real shots for the educational initiative, activity, or resource, etc..
- Emphasize the statistics, number of beneficials, outputs, processes, and outcomes of these initiatives.
3- Article (700-1000 words):
- Craft a detailed article showcasing the green transformation projects, resources and initiatives.
- Highlight the innovative aspects of the initiatives.
- Articulate the impact of these projects on promoting sustainable practices, both on and off-campus.
- Provide insightful commentary on the projects’ contributions to the broader goals of sustainability.
2- Application Review 1st February 2024 to 1st June 2024
The Green Education Awards committee, comprising esteemed members such as university deans, educational leaders, and representatives from ministries, will undertake a thorough review of the submitted applications and ensure a comprehensive evaluation process. Their collective insights will be instrumental in identifying and classifying initiatives according to their commitment to sustainability and the Green Education Transformation (Education 6.0).
3- Top 60 Announcement 1st July 2024
The Green Education Awards committee will officially declare the closure of the application review process by announcing the Top 60 applicants that have demonstrated a commitment to sustainability and the Green Education Transformation (Education 6.0). These selected applicants will progress to the next stage of evaluation, emphasizing their noteworthy contributions and aligning with the Holistic Green Education Framework.
4- Nomination and Advocacy 1st July 2024 to 30th July 2024
Educators will engage their communities with the Green Transformation through:
- Initiating an advocacy campaign involving their surrounding communities e.g. universities, schools, to actively participate in the campaign and vote for the educator at the Green Educator Award.
- Encourage the university or school community to highlight the initiative’s achievements through #GreenEducationAwards and #GreenEducatorAward Hashtags on social media.
- Extra points will be counted for the Media Coverage, reports, news, interviews about the Educator participation at the Green Educator Award and Green Education Awards. Media Coverage Links should be sent prior to 1st August to [email protected]
5- Top 6 Winners Announcement 24th September 2024
The Green Education Awards Committee will contact the winners by the 1st of September 2024. The Announcement of the Green Education Awards will be declared in the Global Green Education Conference #GEC24.
Green Educator Award Prizes
The winning educator of the Green Educator Award will receive a multitude of benefits, including:
- Free Qualification for the Green Education Certification, an initial step in their journey to earn the most significant Certification in Green Education (Education 6.0).
- Global recognition and acknowledgment for their efforts and contributions in the realm of Green Education Transformation.
- Green Researcher Award Trophy and Certificate of Excellence.
- Free Membership for two years in Green Education Organization.
- “Golden Pass” for the World Green Education Conference 2024 #GEC24, to attend all related events for free.
- Financial grants will be determined according to Green Education Awards sponsors.
