Green Leader Award

Green Leader Award recognizes and honors remarkable Green Leaders who have significantly contributed to advancing Sustainability and the Green Transformation within their educational institution, organization, business, or Nonprofit Organization.

Eligibility and Criteria

To be eligible for the Green Leader Award, applicants must submit their recorded achievements, innovative sustainability contributions, climate education initiatives, or Green Transformation Initiatives
Green Leaders submissions should showcase their substantial impact on individuals and organizations, influencing policy changes or institutional shifts towards sustainability and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

Green Leader Award Timeline

1- Application Submission 1st February 2024 to 1st June 2024

Applicants are required to submit:

1- Green Leader Award Application Form:

Provide personal information and contact details for effective communication.

2- Video Presentation (3-6 minute Video):

Record a video highlighting real shots from the applicant achievement, innovative contributions or green transformation initiatives.
Emphasize the statistics, number of beneficials, outputs, processes, and outcomes of these initiatives.
Clearly demonstrate personal unwavering commitment to sustainability and the Green Education Transformation.

3- Article (700-1000 words):

Craft a detailed article explaining the applicant’s green transformation contribution, achievement, projects or initiatives.
Highlight the innovative aspects of their initiative.
Articulate the impact of these projects on promoting sustainable practices.
Provide insightful commentary on the projects’ contributions to the broader goals of sustainability.

2- Application Review 1st February 2024 to 1st June 2024

The Green Education Awards committee, comprising esteemed members such as university deans, educational leaders, and representatives from ministries, will undertake a thorough review of the submitted applications and ensure a comprehensive evaluation process. Their collective insights will be instrumental in identifying and classifying initiatives according to their commitment to sustainability and the Green Education Transformation (Education 6.0).

3- Top 60 Announcement 1st July 2024

The Green Education Awards committee will officially declare the closure of the application review process by announcing the Top 60 applicants that have demonstrated a commitment to sustainability and the Green Education Transformation (Education 6.0). These selected applicants will progress to the next stage of evaluation, emphasizing their noteworthy contributions and aligning with the Holistic Green Education Framework.

4- Nomination and Advocacy 1st July 2024 to 30th July 2024

Green Leaders will engage their communities with the Green Transformation through:

Initiating an advocacy campaign involving their surrounding communities e.g. Educational Institutions, organizations, NGOs, to vote for the applicant at the Green Leader Award.
Encourage the surrounding community to highlight the participant achievements through #GreenEducationAwards and #GreenLeaderAward Hashtags on social media.
Extra points will be counted for the Media Coverage, reports, news, interviews about the leader’s participation at the Green Leader Award and Green Education Awards. Media Coverage Links should be sent prior to 1st August to [email protected]

5- Top 6 Winners Announcement 24th September 2024

The Green Education Awards Committee will contact the winners by the 1st of September 2024. The Announcement of the Green Education Awards will be declared in the Global Green Education Conference #GEC24.
