Green Researcher Award

Green Researcher Award acknowledges and honors exceptional researchers who have made significant scientific contributions to the advancement of sustainability and the Green Education Transformation (Education 6.0).

Eligibility and Criteria

To be eligible for the Green Research Award, applicants are required to submit their research that significantly contributes to the progress of sustainability and the Green Education Transformation (Education 6.0). Submitted research must be published in a peer-reviewed journal with an impact factor.

Researches may demonstrate their innovative approaches in the field of Green Education and Sustainability through addressing one of the Holistic Green Education Framework six pillars:

Green Education Leadership:

Researchers could submit their contributions in, but not limited to, effective leadership strategies of Green Education
Transformation; Education 6.0 characteristics, strategies and approaches; and Green Education Transformation evaluation methodologies.

Green Curriculums and Instructional Methods:

Researchers could submit their contributions in, but not limited to, strategies and methods of Environmental Education Integration into curriculum; Green Instructional Methods and technology-enhanced learning approaches. STEM and interdisciplinary approaches.

Green Research and Innovations:

Applicants could submit their research on, but not limited to, strategies to foster international scientific cooperation in green technologies and sustainability research, and recent Green technologies and innovations.

Green Facilities:

Researchers could submit their contributions in, but not limited to, sustainable construction and refurbishment approaches, energy efficiency measures, recycling practices, water-saving technologies and sustainable landscaping practices.

Green Human Capital:

Applicants could submit their research on, but not limited to, approaches to enhance eco-literacy and environmental responsibility within educational institutions, and strategies to qualify students and graduates for green jobs.

Green Communities:

Researchers could submit their contributions on, but not limited to, the social impact of educational institutions on nearby areas, case studies of collaboration between educational institutions, businesses, and local community organizations.

Green Researcher Award Timeline

1- Application Submission 1st February 2024 to 1st June 2024

Applicants are required to submit:

1- Green Researcher Award Form:

Provide required personal information and contact details for effective communication.

2- Video Presentation (3-6 minute Video):

Record a video explaining research summarization, key objectives, methodologies, and findings of the research, highlighting how the research has contributed to the advancement of sustainability and the Green Education Transformation (Education 6.0).

3- Article (700-1000 words):

Applicants are required to submit an article simplifying their research for the public, conveying the essence of the research, its key objectives, methodologies employed, and the significant findings achieved.
The emphasis should be on demonstrating how the research has a pivotal role in advancing sustainability and contributing to the Green Transformation (Education 6.0).
Provide insightful commentary on the research’s contributions to the broader goals of sustainability.

2- Application Review 1st February 2024 to 1st June 2024

The Green Education Awards committee, comprising esteemed members such as university deans, educational leaders, and representatives from ministries, will undertake a thorough review of the submitted applications and ensure a comprehensive evaluation process. Their collective insights will be instrumental in identifying and classifying researches according to their commitment to sustainability and the Green Education Transformation (Education 6.0).

3- Top 60 Announcement 1st July 2024

The Green Education Awards committee will officially declare the closure of the application review process by announcing the Top 60 applicants that have demonstrated a commitment to sustainability and the Green Education Transformation (Education 6.0). These selected applicants will progress to the next stage of evaluation, emphasizing their noteworthy contributions and aligning with the Holistic Green Education Framework.

4- Nomination and Advocacy 1st July 2024 to 30th July 2024

Green Researchers will engage their communities with their research and Green Transformation through:

Initiating an advocacy campaign involving their surrounding communities e.g. Educational Institutions, to vote for the researcher at the Green Researcher Award.
Encourage their community to highlight the participant research through #GreenEducationAwards and #GreenResearcherAward Hashtags on social media.
Extra points will be counted for the Media Coverage, reports, news, interviews about the researcher participation at the Green Researcher Award and Green Education Awards. Media Coverage Links should be sent prior to 1st August to [email protected]

5- Top 6 Winners Announcement 24th September 2024

The Green Education Awards Committee will contact the winners by the 1st of September 2024. The Announcement of the Green Education Awards will be declared in the Global Green Education Conference #GEC24.

Green Researcher Award Prizes

The winning researchers of the Green Researcher Award will receive a multitude of benefits, including:
