About Dongguk University
Dongguk University was founded in 1906 by Buddhist leaders based on the ideas of advancing Buddhism and saving the nation through education. There are currently 10 graduate schools which include an AACSB (American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business) accredited MBA program and 11 colleges consisting of 56 departments and majors. Educational Purpose Following its foundational principles of Buddhism, Dongguk aims to cultivate talented individuals with leadership skills that will contribute to realizing the ideals of the nation and mankind through research and teaching of academic theories and their application methods. Students are provided with an optimal educational environment to dedicate themselves to their studies and expand their understanding of the world. In addition, Dongguk's faculty, which is composed of top professors within their respective fields, is committed to fostering talented individuals demanded by today's society by concentrating not only within their disciplines but by extending across related fields to take an interdisciplinary approach.
