About Donghua University

Donghua University (DHU), formerly known as China Textile University, has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1951. It is one of China's National Key Universities, operating directly under the Ministry of Education (MoE). DHU is recognized as a member of China's Project 211, which comprises the top 100 universities designated by the MoE in 1995 as national priority institutions for the 21st century. It is also actively involved in the Double First-Class University Plan, a national initiative aimed at elevating a select group of elite universities to global standards by 2050. Nestled in the vibrant city of Shanghai, DHU boasts three campuses: Songjiang Campus, Yan'an Road Campus, and Xinhua Road Campus, spanning an expansive area of approximately 1,333,000 square meters, while the combined floor space exceeds 830,000 square meters, providing an enriching environment for academic pursuits. Guided by the motto of Virtue, Erudition, Aspiration, and Earnestness, DHU has evolved into a multidisciplinary institution of high repute, with a particular focus on textiles, materials, and design.
