Established under Dutch rule in 1949, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) stands as one of Indonesia’s oldest and largest higher education institutions, renowned for its academic excellence. Situated in the Special Region of Yogyakarta on the island of Java, commonly referred to as Jogja, the university benefits from its location in a province celebrated for its rich Javanese culture and heritage. With a campus sprawling across 360 acres, UGM offers 250 courses through its 18 faculties, vocational and graduate school.
