About Hallym University

Hallym University is a four-year private university set at the foot of Bong Ui Mountain in central Chuncheon. Since its foundation in 1982, the university has strived to nurture its students into leaders of tomorrow. Located one-hour east of Seoul and served by world class transportation links, Chuncheon serves as the gateway as well as the capital of the province of Gangwon-do. The university boasts eight colleges and six schools, one general graduate school and six special graduate schools. There are 783 full-time and 393 part-time faculty members, in addition to a 201-member staff. Hallym University is affiliated with the Hallym University Medical Center, which has six general hospitals located throughout Korea, including the Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital right next to the campus. The multi-award winning Ilsong Memorial Library carries over 700,000 books and 50,000 non-book materials, with a seating capacity of over 2000. With a student population of about eight thousand, Hallym maintains a close-knit family feel. With its focus on ‘student-centered learning’ and the process of internationalization at its core, Hallym University has invested in its campus facilities to give students the best possible learning environment as well as humane living conditions.
