About North China Electric Power University
North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), a national key institution under the auspices of both “Project 211” and “Project 985”, falls directly under the Ministry of Education's jurisdiction. Founded in 1958 in Beijing as the Beijing Electric Power College, it transitioned to the Ministry of Education's administration in 2003, jointly managed by the Ministry of Education and the university Council, which includes representatives from the State Grid Corporation of China and six other national key power companies. Presently, NCEPU spans two campuses, one in Beijing and another in Baoding, with integrated management. Hosting approximately 3,000 faculty members, over 20,000 full-time undergraduate students, and nearly 10,000 postgraduate students, the university covers a vast area of over 1,600 acres with a built area exceeding 1 million square meters. NCEPU's mission revolves around nurturing talent for the country's energy and power industry and driving scientific and technological advancement in the field. With 11 schools offering 59 undergraduate majors and a robust research ecosystem, including national and provincial key disciplines, NCEPU is committed to talent development, innovative research, and university-industry collaboration. Additionally, the university actively engages in international education and cooperation initiatives, contributing to the Belt and Road Initiative and forging partnerships with renowned universities worldwide.
