The Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College were founded in 1917 and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College were established in 1957. At the beginning of its establishment, Peking Union Medical College pioneered the eight-year medical education, higher nursing education, resident physician training system and modern public health education in my country, and achieved "Peking Man Research", "Monomeric Ephedrine Extraction", "Kala-azar Research", etc. A series of important achievements; the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences has made creative contributions in the research and development of polio vaccines, the national control and basic elimination of leprosy, the creation and promotion of chemotherapy for the radical cure of chorioepithelial cancer, and the independent research and development and industrial production of antibiotics in my country.
