Soochow University (abbreviated as Suda; 苏州大学) is a provincial public university in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. It is affiliated with the Province of Jiangsu, and co-funded by the SASTIND and the provincial government. The university is part of Project 211 and the Double First-Class Construction. The university's genesis can be historically traced to the original Soochow University (東吳大學) founded by Methodists in 1900, which was later split and merged with a couple of institutions
