The University of Costa Rica is an institution of higher education and culture, constitutionally autonomous and democratic, made up of a community of professors, students, administrative officials, dedicated to teaching, research, social action, study, meditation, artistic creation and the dissemination of knowledge. The University of Costa Rica must contribute to the transformations that society needs to achieve the common good, through a policy aimed at achieving social justice, equity, comprehensive development, full freedom and total independence of our town. The University of Costa Rica offers a wide range of degree programs to meet the demand for professionals in Costa Rican society and offers students academic, research and humanistic training in each of its different schools. The Institution offers undergraduate options (Diploma Programs and Specialization Certificates in Special Programs) and teaches more than a hundred degree courses endorsed by the Academic Evaluation Center.
