Established in 1997, the University of Sharjah (UOS) stands as a private, national, co-educational institution located in University City, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Despite its relatively young age, UOS has emerged as a formidable competitor among its older counterparts, boasting 14 colleges and offering over 120 diverse academic programs. Situated just a few kilometers from the Arabian Gulf, the university's campus comprises the main campus, along with the Medical and Health Sciences campus, the Fine Arts and Design campus, and a branch in Al Dhaidh City. Reflecting its Islamic and Arabic heritage, UOS's architecture harmonizes tradition with modernity, providing students with cutting-edge facilities such as study halls, laboratories, libraries, state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and computing labs, theaters, sports complexes, and student centers equipped with restaurants and shops. Moreover, UOS houses several state-of-the-art research centers, all dedicated to producing impactful research for the betterment of humanity. Notable among these is the Sharjah Centre for Astronomy and Space Sciences, which features a Planetarium, an Exhibition of the Universe in the Holy Qur’an, an Astronomical Observatory, and a Cosmic Park.
